Program Overview: This program offers students a meaningful opportunity to engage with the history and legacy of the Cambodian genocide, specifically in ways that Cambodians have learned to heal their trauma through art and expression. Through visits to memorials, museums, dance studios, puppet shows, and survivor-led organizations, students will explore the personal and collective impact of this tragedy, while examining broader themes of healing and growing in trauma.
Final Project: Students have the freedom to design any project that they believe best showcases their understanding of the experience and the impact it left on them. They are encouraged to let their creativity shine through their work. Whatever medium they choose, the choice is theirs!
